In the Food Operations Laboratory, some operations applied in food engineering are performed by students on pilot-scale equipment. Experiments carried out in this context can be listed as: plate heat exchangers, shell and tube heat exchangers, double-pipe heat exchangers, rising film evaporator, solid-liquid extraction, tray dryers, spray dryers, and fluidized bed dryers, hammer mill, plate and frame filtration and pasteurization. It is provided that students evaluate the data they receive during the experiment, make calculations on the subject, and present their results and discussions as a report.
